Fall in Tennessee, 2008

What a glorious fall we enjoyed this year in Tennessee. Here are some pictures of the trees around our home in Primm Springs. Some days the leaves looked as though they were on fire!
It is interesting to note that the fall colors are the true colors of the trees. In the spring and summer they gather their chlorophyll in order to grow. In the fall they show off their true majesty. "Look at me," they exclaim. This is how God made me. Aren't I beautiful? Give praise to God for His amazing artistry."

This year was one of our most beautiful falls, and it lingered on and on. "Thank you, Lord, for delighting our eyes."

Evan Roberts Revival in Wales

After preaching all day we went back to stay with our lovely hosts. They lived nearby Blaenannerch Chapel where the great revival in Wales started. We couldn't miss the opportunity to see it. Colin and I are sitting in the very spot where Evan Roberts was baptized with the Holy Spirit.

Colin sitting in the very pew.

Colin thought he would get a feel of the pulpit.
Colin and I were deeply affected by visiting this church where the revival started. Evan Roberts was born June 8 1878. He always had a heart for God. At 13 years he started praying for revival. At the age of 26 he had been praying for revival for 13 years. During the spring of the year the revival started he would wake from 1.00 am to 4.00 am to be in the presence of the Lord.
On 29 September at the prayer meeting at Blaenannerch Chapel God met him again. He said, "I fell on my knees with my arms over the seat in front of me, and the tears and perspiration flowed freely. I thought blood was gushing forth. For about two minutes it was fearful. I cried, "Bend me! Bend me! Bend us!" I was bent in body and soul until my face was black and blue. After I was bent a wave of peace came over me. Oh wonderful, this is life! You've heard it said of joy being felt by men to the tops of their fingers. Yes, it is literally true!"
From this moment the revival started and it is estimated that 100,000 souls came into the kingdom during a two year period. It not only affected Wales, but many countries of the world.
The meetings were totally guided by the Holy Spirit. One writer said, "For the most part he walked up and down the ailes, open Bible in hand, exhoting one, encouraging another, and kneeling with a third to implore a blessing from the throne of grace."
Although the cry and prayer of the revival was, "Lord, Bend me," yet another wrote, "He smiles when he prays. He laughs when he exhorts."

England Itinerary, 23 September - 14 October

Staying with Tom and Margaret Mellor at their Bed and Breakfast which is the in the village of Knowle Green in Lanchashire.

As we were driving through Yorkshire we actually met some gypsies living on the side of the road. The parents and the last daughter at home (plus about 20 dogs) live in these two old caravans in very poor conditions.

A rainbow over Loch Lomond, but I didn't get to see the Loch Ness monster!

One of my favorite parts of beautiful England is the Lake District. We stayed with lovely folks in this Cumbria district. Their home looked out on the beautiful fells which change in shade and color continually. We went for a walk around Lake Crummock. Being interested in sheep I was quite taken with the Herdwick sheep who graze on the tufts and braken of the fells. Beatrix Potter, who farmed in this disrict for about 30 years, loved Herdwick sheep. She bred them and won many prizes at national shows. Many of her books were written in this district.

Our trip to England, Holland, Scotland and Wales was gruelling, but wonderful. W loved and staying with the precious families and encouraging them. We had meetings, often twice or more a day, as well as traveling. Most people could not believe we could keep up with our itinerary, but we did and survived! And many were blessed.

We did not have time for sightseeing, although enjoyed the beautiful countryside as we traveled. We arrived to speak at one meeting in Scotland to find out that Castle Campbell, owned originally by Colin Campbell, was only about 10 minutes away! But it was evening and we had to travel back that night to another place ready for the next venue the next morning! We hope that one day we can go back to this spot and visit Castle Campbell. It was also quite near the William Wallace Monument in Stirling (which we didn't have time to stop and visit either!)

Summer Time

My sister, Kate and I have a little time out
together.

Colin keeps busy mowing all the grass with his
tractor during the summer time.
This is our front lawn.
